Sosoon Backpack Review

By  Enda

Thanks for taking your time to read our review on the very popular Sosoon Backpack. This is a classic lightweight backpack, that will hold a laptop or iPad. It is available in two sizes - 15.6" or 17". There is plenty of room inside and it has some nice add on features such as a USB charging port and an earphone hole.

Many buyers also like this backpack as there is a lock shackle hidden inside the side pocket to help make this backpack anti-theft. Overall though, the main reason people buy this is that it has plenty of room without being too big to carry around.

It has 3 roomy compartments inside, one for a laptop, one large general purpose compartment and a compartment for holding all your bits and pieces.

Why Buyers Like the Sasoon Backpack?

When we are doing our research, we like to find the reasons that they have for liking the backpack, after they have bought and used if for a few months. We believe that is what is really important. We have listed those reasons just below.

Good Capacity for travelling to work

A large number of buyers use this backpack for traveling to work. For that they want a bag that can hold a laptop, the power leads, chargers, memory sticks etc. Those will fit into the back compartment. That leaves the middle compartment free for items like your lunch, notebooks etc, or for enough clothes for an overnight stay.

The front of this backpack can then be used for the bits and pieces such as a purse, keys, phones, make-up and small note books and pens/pencils.

Comfortable to carry

There is nothing worse than carrying a backpack with thin padding as it will dig into your shoulders, or continually fall off your shoulders. The vast majority of buyers said that this backpack has padded shoulder straps and makes this backpack very comfortable to carry.

When a backpack is packed, it can get heavy and what you need is good weight distribution and well places shoulder straps that are comfortable and won't rip at the stitching. This one seems to perform very well indeed.

The straps are adjustable which of course is very important. There is a small tab on one of the straps where you can attach sunglasses, and on the other tab is a small ticket/card holder.

There is also a top handle if you need to quickly move it around or lift it up.

Built to last

For us this is one of the most important things, as who wants to spend their money on a backpack and find it falls apart after a few months. We looked very closely at the buyer reviews to find out how durable this backpack was.

Those reviewers who had updated their reviews all said that the bag held up very well.

Plenty of pockets

The laptop compartment on either the 15.6" or 17" option is padded and that offers some protection to your device. The middle compartment is ideal for packing in something like clothes or notebooks and it really depends on what you need to carry, but it is big enough.

The multi-functional compartment has several pockets, pen pockets, and a key fob hook. This does make things easier to find if you take the time to organise it to suit your own needs.

The little extras

Lock Shackle

There's a lock shackle hidden inside the side pocket. That allows you to connect the upper pull head of the main pocket with the lock shackle. That will make it very difficult for thieves to easily open your backpack without you noticing.

Anti-theft Pocket

There is also a small anti-theft pocket located on the lower back inside of the backpack. It is large enough to be able to hold a passport, wallet, phone, etc.

USB Port and Earphone Hole

There is a USB port on the side of the backpack. If you have a power bank you can connect it to this and power up your phone.

There is also a small headphone hole on the side of the backpack if you want to be hands free.

Our Verdict on the Sasoon Backpack

sosoon backpack

This backpack like most has a 1 year warranty. Buyers liked the range of compartments inside as it gave them good packing choices.

The price is good value for money for this type of backpack. It is only available in a black colour, which is a pity as some people would like more choices.

Buyers liked the padded laptop compartment, the large main compartment and the multi-functional compartment that can hold all their bits and pieces.

As an all rounder backpack, this one ticks many of the important boxes, and at this type of price point, with a high buyer satisfaction rating, we think makes it a very popular choice for many UK buyers.

This Sasoon backpack is made from a black knitted fabric composite material. The zippers are good quality and have reinforced stitching for lasting durability. It is worth noting that the finish on the pack is more stylish and shinier than matte black.

Does the backpack have a hidden pocket?

There is a small hidden pocket at the back of the backpack and it is big enough to hold something the size of a man's wallet or a purse

What is it like in the rain?

It performs really well. The manufacturer states this is waterproof, but we have never found one yet that is fully waterproof. It will handle most showers, even heavy ones, and that is better than many.

There is a mesh water bottle holder on each side of the backpack.

Is it suitable for carrying on to a plane?

This bag measures 31.5 x 19.05 x 48.01 cm and weighs 0.8 Kg unpacked. You can check our list below to see if it is suitable for the airline being used. It would be suitable for Jet2, British Airways, Aer Lingus and Thomas Cook. It would be slightly over sized for the budget airlines.
