The very basic requirements for most backpack users is that they want something that is light, has plenty of space and is durable. That would be a given set of specifications for any good backpack.

Likewise if you have worn a backpack for any length of time, you know that it takes its toll on the shoulders. If it is not well balanced, or does not have padded shoulder straps, then it can get pretty sore.

The straps on this popular Eastpak model are very well padded and also have a coating that actually keeps them on your shoulders. If you have even worn one of these and the straps keep slipping off, then we know just how annoying that can be.

There are no worries with this one doing that and we think that is actually more important than many people consider when making this type of purchase.

Our Verdict on the Eastpak Padded Pak'r Backpack

This is a traditional backpack of a sensible size and one that has been very well made. It withstands a lot of abuse and it looks really cool.

The quality is very good and it is tough and long lasting.

It will also hold a lot and the comfort of the shoulder straps is amazing.

The only down side that we could find was that it takes a bit of time to break it in.

Check Amazon UK for Availability

Backpacks are a pickpocket's dream bag. Some of them are so badly designed that we would like to meet some of the manufacturers and show them the major flaws. Thankfully, this one has no such design issues.

Decent sized flaps cover the zip areas. Now that does not completely deter thieves, but it makes it a lot harder for them. The zippers are also very good quality. It is always advisable to have these zips fully tightened and locked to keep prying hands away from your belongings.

However if this is not the one for you, then check out our article on anti-theft backpacks by clicking here, or this article where we have created a list of the top 10 backpacks in the UK, by buyer satisfaction rating.

One final consideration is about a backpack being waterproof or rain proof. You would think that all backpacks are waterproof. That is just not the case and many of the poorly made ones will absorb water very quickly. This Eastpak Padded Pak'r Backpack stands up the rain very well indeed
