The Eastpak Padded Pak’r Backpack is one of the best selling backpacks in the UK market right now. This is a very good brand, and if you are someone who wants a good quality backpack, then this one should tick many of your boxes.
In this article we do a full review so as you know exactly what you will be getting for your hard earned cash.
In summary, this backpack sells really well, has an RRP of £40.00 and overall buyers have given this one a 92% buyer satisfaction rating. It has one main large compartment, a wide front pocket and has well padded shoulder straps.
It comes in a variety of colours including black, brown, navy, red, coal, yellow, grey and blue. It measures 40 cm x 30 cm x 18 cm so a nice size and weighs only 350 grams and has a 24 litre capacity.
As I mentioned in the introduction, this Eastpak backpack is rated by online buyers at 92%. That is a high rating and has remained consistent over a long period of time. That is down to the high quality and durability of the product, and if you can find it anywhere online for less than the RRP of £40, then you have got yourself a real bargain.
What makes this one a best seller according to most of the buyers is simply its comfort. At the end of the day if you like a backpack that keeps your hands free, and it is comfortable on your shoulders, and holds the things you need then there is not a lot more to think about.
For us here at Luggage News those are the basic requirements of any backpack.

Eastpak Padded Pak’R Backpack Specification
The very basic requirements for most backpack users is that they want something that is light, has plenty of space and is durable. That would be a given set of specifications for any good backpack.
Likewise if you have worn a backpack for any length of time, you know that it takes its toll on the shoulders. If it is not well balanced, or does not have padded shoulder straps, then it can get pretty sore.
The straps on this popular Eastpak model are very well padded and also have a coating that actually keeps them on your shoulders. If you have even worn one of these and the straps keep slipping off, then we know just how annoying that can be.
There are no worries with this one doing that and we think that is actually more important than many people consider when making this type of purchase.

Backpacks are a pickpocket’s dream bag. Some of them are so badly designed that I would like to meet some of the manufacturers and show them the major flaws. Thankfully, this one has no such design issues.
Decent sized flaps cover the zip areas. Now that does not completely deter thieves, but it makes it a lot harder for them. The zippers are also very good quality.
It is always advisable to have these zips fully tightened and locked to keep prying hands away from your belongings.
You would think that all backpacks are waterproof. That is just not the case and many of the poorly made ones will drink water very quickly. This one stands up the rain very well indeed.
This bag is made to last from tough material. It does take a little bit of time to break in because of that, but it is worth it I believe. One reviewer said this:
The 30 year warranty is there for a reason because Eastpak knows that not many people will be using that warranty..It’s waterproof (has been used in some serious, trust me serious downpour), it doesn’t rip or tear, the zips never get stuck and have been smooth since the first day of purchase.
This reviewer went on to say that he bought this one and 5 years later it is still going strong.
Verdict & Summary
This is a traditional backpack of a sensible size and one that has been very well made. It withstands a lot of abuse and it looks really cool.
However if this is not the one for you, then check out our article on anti-theft backpacks by clicking here, or this article where we have created a list of the top 10 backpacks in the UK, by buyer satisfaction rating.
With reference to this one though, the quality is very good and it is tough and long lasting.
It will also hold a lot and the comfort of the shoulder straps is amazing. The only down side that we could find was that it takes a bit of time to break it in.
