Karabar Cabin Suitcase Review

By  Enda

The Karabo Monaco remains one of the most popular choices for a hard sided suitcase that is fully cabin approved. It measures 54 x 34 x 20 cm, holds up to 31 litres and weighs 2.2 Kg when empty.

This is a lightweight piece of cabin luggage and has 4 multi-directional spinning wheels which means it can be moved around very easily. The fact that it comes with a full 10 Year warranty is evidence enough that this is a high quality suitcase that will last you for years.

As we know hard suitcases are the best for protecting your luggage and valuables. The main drawback is usually the weight of the case itself. At only 2.2 Kg this is one of the lightest currently available in the UK market. That alone helps explain its popularity.

Main Review of the Karabar Monaco Case

So aside from this suitcase being light, it is also fully lined and that makes it stand out from many similar models on the market. The key feature of this case though is the protection that it offers to anything you may have stored inside.

If you travel regularly and simply watch some of the luggage coming around on the conveyor belt at the airport, then you know what condition many of that is in.

Cases as you know are tossed about by baggage handlers without a great deal of thought given to what damage they can do to the case itself or anything of value that might be inside it.

The Karabar uses flexible but tough ABS material to make your case as tough as anything else on the market right now.

As I mentioned the case is fully and properly lined. It is also set up in such a way that you can pack your clothes into both sides.

One side has elasticated packing straps and on the other side there is a full length divider, with a zipped fastener to help keep everything in place.

Value for Money

When you see a case like this at what I like to call a sensible price, you do start to question the quality? There is no need to worry on that front. This one has been very well made and will not let you down.

A few buyers did say that the handle felt slightly flimsy, but not that it gave them any specific problems.

One thing worth mentioning is that some people do by this model as their main case. It is not suitable for that as this is designed to fit in the cabin.

It does hold a good amount of clothes but is not ideal for a 2-week holiday. It will work well for a weekend case, and you could maybe stretch that to a week at a push.

The spinning wheels and the fact that there are four of them make this hard case very easy to move around. More and more people are moving towards the 4-wheel version rather than the 2-wheel option that you have to pull along behind you.

This one moves easy and it takes little or no effort to do so. The case looks nice as well and many buyers comment on the fact that it looks great and easy to identify on the belt when picking up your luggage.

Karabar Ratings & Reviews

Overall online buyers rate this one with an 88% buyer satisfaction rating which is very good for a suitcase. It is suitable for use on all of the low cost airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair and that again is a reason for its popularity.

The Karabar Monaco described here does remain a very popular choice with UK buyers. It is affordable, good quality and the 10 year warranty makes this shell style case worth your consideration.
